Introduction

Illyasviel von Einzbern (Illya for short) is a character from the Fate franchise. This figure represents her in a car racing outfit, in the classic vinyl outfit. She supports the Prisma Racing team.
Stronger manufactured this figure whose scale is 1/7.

Base: 10/10

The base is based on a white disk but there are a lot more to it. Firstly, we can see the name of the figure. I do not like this. Secondly, a checked pattern is designed in a circular manner. It reminds us that the theme of the figure is the car driving competition! Thirdly, a dark strip with a shading, reminiscent of a carbon texture, with a blue stripe and a red stripe, crosses the base and shows clearly the name of the team Illya is supporting. If the base was only that, I would have given a 6/10 because I dislike bases with text.

However, it is also composed of a pole, terminated by a star. When I opened the package, right after releasing Illya from her plastic jail, I heard a thud. I discovered the pole is made of metal! So it is very sturdy and will not bend in the future.

The part that goes into the plastic disk is sufficiently long to assure a good stability. It is really important because Illya will not touch the floor… but you will see that very shortly.

Illyasviel is attached to the pole by two metal pegs that go into her right leg and by her right hand, grabbing it.

To finish the base, take a look at this massive flag! Space is not a concern (yet) for me but I think it can be problematic for people with narrow bookshelves for example.

It is much more than a simple disk. The texts are quickly forgotten because the real show is higher, 10/10.

Design - Pose: 10/10

The impression of movement is real with this figure. Illya seems to have jumped and is maintaining her balance. She is not directly connected to the ground. Notice the length of her legs and the absence of fat. Illyasviel seems to be a great sportswoman!

Illya is really happy and is shouting to accompany her team to the victory. Losing is not possible when such a cute cheerleader is present! A lot of work has been put on the skin with the fold of the stomach, the details of the armpit and the two straps.

One of my favorite characteristics in anime characters is the unreal amount of hair they can have. It is something I search for when I look for a new figure. Here, Illya has hair as high as her. Totally impractical, so totally what I like.

Some strands seem to rebel and do not want to be done.

10/10 for this unique and aerial pose.

Design - Painting: 9/10

The contrast between the shiny vinyl outfit and the matte finish of the skin is well realized. The letters of the team name are clearly defined.

One detail I find important is the paint of the eyes, even if I barely do not see it except on photos. Very good job here with several colors.

The edges of the checked pattern are clean but it seems like a white square is missing on the top right? It is like that on the prototype, so not a production defect but a strange design choice.

THE only problem I found on this figure, the metal pegs are visible on the other side of the pole. It is behind the figure but it could have been made differently, at a much higher cost because the pole would have been made in 3D.

Too bad, a 9/10 because of the metal pegs!

Quality: 10/10

The paint is globally well applied, I only found one very small “failed” spot.

No discussion here, 10/10.

Price: 10/10

With the deal I found, I paid less than 200€. It is without discussion my best quality-price ratio figure. Illya Saber was 268€ for comparison.

10/10, the price is not right, I would have paid 40% more.

9.8/10, near perfect, clearly one of my favorite figures with Illya Saber!
